Three-dimensional survey of the lighthouse and keeper's cottage

video · Preserving Florida

The lantern room at the top of the lighthouse in the three-dimensional model, cut open so the inside is visible. A lamp stands at the centre of a glazed frame of thin black glazing bars, under a dark domed roof, with a railed gallery around it and pale cloud behind. — The lantern room, cut open in the survey.Still from the three-dimensional survey. Description

A measured three-dimensional record of the Cape Florida Lighthouse and the keeper's cottage, made with RealitySync for the bicentennial of 17 December 2025 and projected onto the tower that night. It covers the exterior, the interior and the spaces closed to visitors, and is accurate enough to rebuild the structures to within a centimetre. The still shown here is of the lantern room at the top of the tower, cut open in the model: the lamp stands inside a glazed frame under a dark domed roof.
